I know, I know. I’ve been very quiet of late. I’d say “sorry” or something, but I know that’s not what you want to hear. Truth is, I’ve been very, VERY busy working on Ship in a Bottle (http://shipinbottle.pepsaga.com), the “sister” softcore comic to Peppermint Saga, as well as Starship Moonhawk, my “straight” sci-fi series. It’s a ton of work considering your average page takes 2-6 hours to make. And I do have a regular job, too. which is something I am attempting to rectify so I can do this full-time. So that’s what I am up to. More when I am not completely fried.

Yeah, I got nothin’ there. However, as I mentioned before a long time ago, Peppermint loves human holidays. Especially Christmas. It’s the gift that keeps on giving (and giving) when those lonely human space travelers visit her world and need a warm and friendly body to snuggle up to during those cold Winter nights. Perfect thing for a girl who’s libido loves to receive.

Blue Gray Rhapsody

I know, we keep meeting like this, don’t we. But there is some good news for genuine Peppermint fans! Blue Gray Rhapsody, my parody/cameo comic set in an alternate universe is live! Follow Princess Peppermint as she scours the known universe in search of hidden treasure. As a renowned treasure hunter, she only goes after the most valuable and rarest artifacts known to sentient beings, but there’s a catch: close on her heels are agents of a nemesis who will stop at nothing to ensure that Peppermint’s reputation as the best is forever tarnished! Couple that with the constant distraction of her insatiable libido and the many, many guest stars who want to sex her and her friends up, and you have a recipe for sexy hilarity! Updates Saturdays (when there’s a guest star and script. XD)

Basically, I have brokered deals with a handful of artists who are known for their pinups and “hentai” comics and stories to bring you Peppermint Saga: Blue Gray Rhapsody (the title is a joke on Project Ako: Blue Side and Gray Side because those episodes took place in another universe where things were almost a mirror opposite to the canon world). so far, with the help of Warchief, Verias and DarkZuri (you can find them all on Fur Affinity), I will be bringing you three different episodes of which each is anywhere from 5 to 11 pages in length. It’s mostly seamy sex in ancient ruins and forbidden castles at the far reaches of the universe, but I still think it can be great fun. So check back often. I am drawing the first episode because Warchief is not really a comic artist, but rather exclusively a pinup artist. But he’ll be contributing a handful of pinups related to the story he helped me edit guest-starring his half-elf gal, Willow.

Hey, also, if you feel like helping out, we now have a donation button at the right. A few bucks now and then would be very helpful in keeping me going, but there’s no obligation, of course.

Hey Hey, kids!

The comic is still MIA, but don’t be discouraged just yet. I am ALMOST completed with my move, and I am in the process of training my hand to work with my new Intuos 4 Wacom drawing tablet. I was originally going to wait for a Cintiq 12WX, but I just couldn’t bring myself to spend all that money on something I wasn’t sure would actually improve my productivity. $200 seemed like a nice, round number. And infinitely more manageable on my limited budget. So that’s my “cah-ray-zee” purchase this month. It’s infinitely better than my old Graphire 3 and 4’s. Those things simply sucked by comparison.

In other news, Ship in a Bottle is still making virtual headlines as we go into our eighth week of updates. I am still working a little on this week’s page, but it SHOULD go up sometime tonight. (Thursday in Hawaii, perhaps?!) I have been salvaging/updating all of the other comic sites I work with, so this “weekend” for me has been a productivity bust. Oh well. Better luck next week? I think so. The really good news is we now have a chat thingee built into the site. It’s a “free” script, and doesn’t have a ton of features. But I am hoping people will use it a bit more than the Cbox (which is only alive on major update days) since there’s a good chance they can catch me “live” and “in person”. (golly, so many quotes. XD)

The move is progressing. Slowly. I am making progress, though. Most of my hardware is here, so getting back into the swing of things will hopefully be a short affair. In the meantime, Tira has been working tirelessly to keep Ship in a Bottle going. I’m hoping to have things settled in a week or so.

Just a Quick Note to My Adoring Fans…

Hey!

No no, I haven’t forsaken you (again…)! I am in the middle of a “surprise move”. Now, note that i have that in quotes. “How can you have a ’surprise’ move, Mace?” Well, it works a little like this: I have been sorta languishing in the same not-so-nice neighborhood for a while. The pipes are messed up and cast extra stink on Tucson’s already stank water, there’s no dishwasher, no garbage disposal, no fitness center, laundry is iffy, pool is always nasty. Plus, I don’t want to COUNT how many times my vehicle has been sorta vandalized. (Apparently, neighborhood kids have nothing better to do besides dump a 32oz Coke on my car as if this is HILARIOUSLY funny.) So, I’ve been looking around since late last year. I renewed… AGAIN in 2008 because really, I had no choice. No specials, nobody was vacating my price range, nada. Well, this time, I stumbled on a deal so good, that if I were to have to STILL pay the last two months rent here then skedaddle, I’d be money ahead. But I had to sign a lease RIGHT FUCKING NOW. I am given $900 off for the early signing bonus, and I save an ADDITIONAL $50/month in rent. And the new place is cheaper with nicer shit. In a better community. With no pedestrian traffic.

SO! This week, I am tossing away all my unneeded shit, renting a U-Haul, and moving 2 miles up the road. It’s a little closer to work, it’s cleaner and nicer, oh, and my lazy ass will have a dishwasher, so no more limp dick excuses or Facebook entries about doing my dishes in the BATHTUB ever again. My shit will be clean. (now if I can just get the toaster to clean out its own crumbs…)

This does also mean that, due to the short notice, my Internets may be like… uh, woah. I’m working on a new page, Ostensibly, I had planned to have it up today. That might still happen, so please keep a wary eye on those RSS feeds. I may be able to upload the beast from Extreme Pita using my laptop. (NINJA!)

Ok, the second page of Ship in a Bottle has gone live, so that means this thing is official! This comic stands a much greater chance of updating on a schedule come hell or high water because I am in cahoots with another artist. Her continued participation depends on this thing going up in a timely fashion and, perhaps, making a few pennies here and there. So I have an incentive to try and make it worth her while. Meanwhile, I am still waiting to hear back from two different artists in regards to a special tangential spinoff to Peppermint Saga. I am code-naming it “BGR” for now, and it is a “cameo” comic set in an alternate reality. So you may see things that are quite contrary to the “official” timeline I am beginning to weave here. Which of the two stories gets run first depends entirely on which artist is able to produce the work first. More as that develops. Anyway, Ship updates on Thursdays, so click the link off to the right, and enjoy!
